BIKKOA® introduces its new GOAT photochromic glasses

  • June 07, 2024

BIKKOA® solidifies its leadership in the padel glasses category with the launch of the new version of its GOAT model, the Official Glasses of the Premier Padel tournaments held in Spain, now featuring photochromic lenses: GOAT Photochromic.

What are photochromic glasses?

Photochromic lenses have the main characteristic of darkening when UV rays directly hit them, and then clearing up again when the light diminishes. Therefore, photochromic sports glasses are ideal for playing on both indoor padel courts (keeping the lenses transparent at all times) and outdoor courts, where the lenses will quickly darken.

Benefits of photochromic lenses

Photochromic lenses absorb solar radiation and optimally adapt to the visibility of the environment based on the level of light or darkness. Their high adaptability prevents eye discomfort in bright light and provides maximum sharpness and clarity in dark environments. This can only be achieved with photochromic lenses.

  • Indoor/Outdoor Versatility

If you regularly play on both indoor and outdoor courts, photochromic lenses are your best option as they automatically adjust to light conditions. The lenses will remain transparent indoors, offering eye safety and avoiding reflections from LED spotlights, and will automatically darken in response to sunlight outdoors.

  • UV Protection

Eye protection is essential to prevent vision injuries. The lenses offer 100% UV protection and are equipped with a filter that blocks all wavelengths within the UV range (10 to 400 nm).

  • Glare Reduction

Photochromic glasses improve contrast and depth perception, while also preventing glare from UV rays on outdoor courts and reflections from spotlights indoors.

  • Impact Resistance

The GOAT photochromic glasses are built with an ultra-lightweight TR90 frame, making them lightweight and robust, providing maximum comfort and high resistance to strong impacts of over 180 km/h and vibrations.

  • Anti-fog and Anti-scratch Lenses

The anti-fog and anti-scratch treatment of the lenses significantly extends their lifespan. No more worrying about annoying lens fogging during matches or if a ball impact or a fall could damage the lens, as each lens features a powerful protective shield that prevents scratches and scuffs.

Advantages of photochromic lenses for playing padel

Photochromic technology provides protection against any change in light intensity, which is essential for keeping your eyes healthy and protected from potential long-term damage. Choosing photochromic glasses will allow you to have an indispensable and versatile accessory on the court, whether you decide to play indoors or outdoors. You will protect your eyes from impacts, reduce glare and visual fatigue, prevent the onset of cataracts, and improve contrast and depth perception on the court.
