Babolat and Playtomic have once again joined forces to launch the Babolat Padel World Cup, a renewed competition that began on September 21 and aims to bring competitive play closer to players of all levels.
The initiative stems from the strategic partnership between the two companies and involves eight countries: Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands. The collaboration is also supported by Meliá Hotels & Resorts, which joins the competition as its Official Hotel Partner.
Meliá’s involvement extends the experience beyond the court, connecting the competition with areas such as sport, wellness, lifestyle and travel.
A competition open to players of all levels
One of the main objectives of the Babolat Padel World Cup is to give players the opportunity to take part in an international competition without having to be part of professional circuits.
The competition is divided into two categories:
Playtomic Open Matches are at the heart of the competition format. Players can participate in as many open matches as possible through the app, earning points based on their results, particularly through wins.
In addition to competing, the format allows participants to discover new clubs, play with other members of the community and challenge friends, integrating several Playtomic features into the competition itself.
Users can choose the club and time that best suits them when joining an open match, while Playtomic finds other players to join them. In this way, the competition aims to make padel more accessible while creating new connections between players both on and off the court.
From national competition to an international final
At the end of the competition phase, the top players in each category from each national league will form a team to represent their country in the final.
The international final will take place from November 20 to 22 at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca, where representatives from the eight participating countries will compete to become the champions of the Babolat Padel World Cup.
As the competition’s Official Hotel Partner, Meliá Hotels & Resorts will accommodate the finalists during their stay in Mallorca. Participants will stay at Meliá Palma Marina, making the hotel experience another part of the players’ journey towards the final.
Babolat and Playtomic: technology, equipment and community
