This was the 5th General Assembly of the International Padel Cluster

Last Friday, May 16, the Foro Room of the Spanish Association for Standardization: UNE hosted the 5th General Assembly of the International Padel Cluster (CIP), a gathering that brought together more than 50 professionals from the sector, including members and guests.

The day began with a speech by the president of the Spanish Padel Federation (FEP), Ramón Morcillo, who reviewed the state of padel in Spain and highlighted the fundamental role of the CIP in promoting and professionalizing the sector. He was followed by Luigi Carraro, president of the International Padel Federation (FIP), who joined via video call to show his support for the work of the CIP and emphasize the importance of working together to promote the internationalization of padel.

For her part, Mireia Álvarez, president of the CIP, spoke about the association’s three strategic projects: the Padel World Summit, the Padel Cluster Magazine, and the UNE Standard. The latter was addressed in depth by Jorge Caña, First Vice President and Head of the Court Area of the CIP, who advocated for the UNE Standard to become an ISO Standard, in order to internationally standardize the quality of padel facilities.

Later, Alex Ponseti, Board Member of the CIP and Managing Director of the Padel World Summit, presented the progress of the second edition of the largest international event for professionals in the padel sector, which will take place from May 27 to 29, 2025, in Barcelona.

After a coffee break, Daniel Ramos, head of Firamunich, presented the latest updates on the upcoming edition of ISPO Munich, which will be held from November 30 to December 2 in Munich. In this edition, padel will once again have its own exclusive area: the ISPO Padel Village, a space dedicated entirely to the sport with the aim of boosting its international visibility. Next, Mar Peire, Vice President of AFYDAD - SPAIN IS SPORT, gave a presentation on sport and tourism, highlighting Spain’s potential as an ideal destination for those looking to combine physical activity and tourism experiences.

Then, Alex Pardo, Second Vice President and Head of the Equipment Area of the CIP, presented the Cluster's profit and loss account for the 2024 financial year, as well as the estimated budget for 2025. Afterwards, Marc Caunes, CIP’s Marketing Director, shared the website figures of the association, which has achieved record traffic for three consecutive months. He also outlined the goals and development of Padel Cluster Magazine, the first professional magazine dedicated exclusively to the padel sector.

Finally, Eduardo Castaño, Managing Partner at Altalex, the firm that has taken over management of the new Legal Department of the CIP, explained the main functions of this new area, which was created to offer specialized legal advice to Cluster members and to strengthen legal security in all its initiatives.

The Assembly concluded with a Q&A session, followed by a finger lunch where attendees had the opportunity to exchange ideas, build connections, and continue strengthening the professional padel ecosystem.
