Taking advantage of the official opening of the Padel World Summit, the largest trade event in the world of padel, held from May 27 to 29 in Barcelona, the International Padel Cluster (CIP), led by its president Mireia Álvarez, wanted to pay a heartfelt tribute to Jaume Ferrer, the driving force behind the launch and consolidation of this event. Ferrer, who passed away on May 18, was remembered as the soul of the project and one of the key pillars in the development of padel as a global industry.
“Jaume was the main driving force behind the Padel World Summit. He dreamed it, designed it, and made it a reality,” Álvarez said during her speech, visibly moved. “From the very beginning, he understood that for padel to grow as an industry, we needed to come together, listen to each other, and look to the future together.”
The emotional ceremony concluded with the presentation of a commemorative plaque to Isabel, his life partner, and their children, Álex and Marta, in recognition of his legacy and tireless work. “It is a small gesture with which we want to express our infinite gratitude and affection,” concluded the president, who reaffirmed the CIP’s commitment to preserving and continuing the vision Ferrer had planted.
The memory of Jaume Ferrer thus marked the beginning of this second edition of the Padel World Summit, an event that today is established as the great meeting point for the international padel industry, thanks in large part to his drive and dedication.
