In a context shaped by increasing professionalisation, the entry of new markets, and rising technical and regulatory standards, AFP Courts has established itself as one of the leading industrial players at an international level. Throughout the interview, Mon Garrés addresses key topics such as the evolution of the padel court market, the growing demands of developers and investors, the role of sustainability, the importance of regulation, and the challenges facing an industry undergoing rapid global expansion.
How do you assess the year twenty twenty-five for the padel industry, and what are your expectations for twenty twenty-six?
We are closing a year marked by consolidation, professionalisation, and increased visibility for padel. The sport continues to grow internationally, especially in markets such as the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, and gaining significant traction in the United States, where -after years of expectations- we can finally say it has become a reality.
Across all these markets, there is a growing commitment to premium facilities and more diverse, technology-driven business models. Moreover, padel is moving beyond the purely sporting environment and expanding into sectors such as tourism and hospitality, real estate, fashion and wellness, education, and public administration. Both developers and end users are seeking a return on investment that is fast, reliable, and secure.
For twenty twenty-six, we foresee moderate yet sustained growth, driven by increased private investment and stricter professional standards in design, manufacturing, and installation. The industry will evolve towards infrastructures with higher requirements in terms of quality, durability, and technical traceability. In this context, the introduction of clearer and more homogeneous regulations will particularly benefit manufacturers like us who already operate with certified processes.
What are AFP Courts’ main objectives for next year?
Our strategic objectives for twenty twenty-six are built around three pillars:
International expansion: strengthening our presence in key markets such as the United States, Central and Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia.
Industrial excellence: continuing to invest in technology, process automation, and certifications to ensure maximum quality, safety, and sports performance.
Sustainable innovation: moving forward with our goal of offering the most sustainable padel courts in the world, reducing the environmental impact of both manufacturing processes and materials.
The keys to our success are clear and consistent, based on a strategy of sustained growth, strong investment in innovation, and a continuous commitment to product excellence.
Regarding the padel court segment, how do you perceive the current evolution and level of competition in the market?
Our segment is increasingly demanding, and clients are looking for reliability, quality, and robust technical solutions. In a global market experiencing seventeen percent growth and more than fifty thousand courts installed in twenty twenty-four, the professionalisation of the sector has elevated requirements: certified materials, structural controls, durability guarantees, and regulatory compliance.
Developers now seek premium solutions with maximum durability, advanced design, and high industrial standards. Competition -which is increasingly global- is becoming polarised between manufacturers focused on volume with lower-cost offers for basic projects, and high-end suppliers capable of delivering full control of the production process and real technical guarantees.
Within this context, AFP Courts is fully aligned with market demands: our experience, consolidated infrastructure, and ability to provide end-to-end control allow us to offer a distinctive value proposition based on technical excellence, operational consistency, and certified durability.
AFP Courts has experienced steady growth since its beginnings. In your opinion, what have been the keys to this success?
The keys to our success are clear and consistent.
On the industrial side, we control one hundred percent of our production process and continuously innovate in materials, structural engineering, and manufacturing techniques.
At the corporate level, every department is fully committed to providing exceptional service and guidance to distributors, developers, and end customers. We also maintain a genuine commitment to the player community, official organisations, and leading international sports institutions. Sustainability and social engagement have also become essential pillars of our reputation within the padel industry.
In summary, our corporate culture is built on excellence, technical rigour, and a long-term service-driven approach.
The industry will evolve toward infrastructures with higher requirements for quality, durability, and technical traceability—a trend that will favor operators capable of delivering robust, certified solutions designed for demanding environments.
In such a competitive market, both nationally and internationally, what added value does your company offer to differentiate itself from the rest?
Beyond everything mentioned, our added value lies in our global experience and know-how. With more than four thousand eight hundred courts installed in over sixty-two countries -including the most demanding industrial and commercial markets- and a network of more than thirty official distributors, our track record speaks for itself.
Expert guidance and personalised support throughout the entire decision-making and project development process are increasingly valued by developers.
Offering turnkey solutions adapted to specific climates, regulations, and project requirements has become a key factor in winning new clients. But what truly sets us apart is the premium quality of our adidas and redsport courts, manufactured with high-performance materials and approved suppliers, ensuring durability and top-tier standards.
Regulation is a decisive factor in such an industrialised market as padel courts. How do you assess its current and future impact?
The increasing regulation is positive for the sector, as it raises safety and technical standards and is progressively being integrated into official industrial bodies in each country. Standards such as ISO 9001:2015 for court design and manufacturing, and UNE 147201:2024 for padel courts -whose development AFP Courts directly contributed to- will help build a more professional market in which only companies with rigorous industrial processes, certifications, traceability, and sustainability criteria will be able to lead.
At AFP Courts, we anticipate these scenarios and work to meet -and even exceed- current and future technical and environmental requirements.
What truly sets us apart is the premium quality of our adidas and redsport tracks, the result of a rigorous industrial process, exhaustive technical control, and a focus on ensuring the best playing experience and maximum durability.
In which markets is AFP Courts currently experiencing the strongest growth?
We are currently seeing strong growth in the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, while the United States is only just beginning to open despite the current tariff situation. These markets show growing demand, sustained investment, and a clear preference for premium solutions with a fast return on investment. Other regions, such as Southeast Asia, have now fully awakened and are expected to experience exponential growth.
From your perspective, which regions or countries show the greatest short- and medium-term potential for padel?
In the short term, the greatest potential in Europe lies in the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, closely followed by the United States. In the medium term, we see major opportunities in South America, Southeast Asia, and some regions of Oceania, where padel is beginning to gain traction.
The U.S. market is one of the most relevant expansion fronts. What does being a sponsor of the PPL represent for you?
Being a partner and the official court supplier of the Pro Padel League is a strategic pillar in our expansion plan for North America. It allows us to showcase our technology in one of the most demanding markets and within a highly competitive
professional environment, strengthening our positioning as leaders in engineering, quality, and compliance with American wind-load and extreme climate regulations.
Additionally, it enables us to play an active role in introducing and developing padel in a market with enormous potential.
Padel is moving beyond the purely sporting arena and gaining ground in sectors such as tourism, hospitality, real estate, and education, opening up new opportunities for high value-added projects and more diversified business models.
What are the main challenges your company will face in the coming years?
They are the same challenges we have successfully overcome throughout our eighteen-year trajectory: maintaining constant innovation, upholding the highest standards of quality and sustainability, scaling international production while preserving technical excellence, sustaining a highly professional distribution network, equipment, and workforce, and above all, continuing to educate the global market on the importance of investing in verified, high-quality manufacturers and products over low-impact, untested alternatives.
