VII CIP General Assembly: More than 70% of Members support the Cluster’s roadmap

  • October 21, 2026

The International Padel Cluster held its VII Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assembly on 15 October, with more than 70% of members present or represented and all items put to a vote approved.

The Assembly took place at our offices at The Venue, in Barcelona’s Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. It was held in a hybrid format, both in person and by videoconference, to facilitate the participation of members from across Spain and abroad.

Welcome from the President

The Cluster’s President, Mireia Álvarez, opened the session with a welcome message to those attending in person, as well as those joining remotely, and recalled the main milestones of 2025 and 2026.

A Mandate Set Out in the Statutes

Next, Managing Director Michel Gogniat recalled the Cluster’s project. He presented its mission, which is to structure, represent and develop the padel industry internationally. He emphasised that this mission does not stem from the wishes of any particular Board, but from the mandate set out in the Statutes accepted by members when they join.

A Remarkable Legacy in Just Five Years

Michel Gogniat reviewed the legacy built in just five years:

  • Around one hundred member companies.
  • A magazine with 3,500 subscribers.
  • A newsletter with 2,500 subscribers.
  • A website with 150,000 visits.
  • The Padel World Summit, established as a leading international event.
  • The UNE Standard, on its way to becoming an ISO standard.
  • Data Padel and Data Pista, as market intelligence tools.

He attributed this result, to a large extent, to the drive of Jaume Ferrer, who passed away in 2025, his close relationship with the industry and his experience as a publisher.

Three Pillars Through to 2028

Following a transitional 2025 marked by significant challenges, the Board of Directors has structured its work through to the end of its term in 2028 around three pillars:

  • Governance and professionalisation.
  • Internationalisation.
  • Financial strength.

In terms of governance, work is being carried out on three fronts:

  • Legal: in collaboration with the legal advisory firm Altalex.
  • Financial: with clear rules on the use of funds and a defined system of delegated powers.
  • Digital: with the voluntary support of Jacobo Vilella, from Data Padel.

Financial Situation

The Vice-President and Treasurer, Alex Pardo, presented the Cluster’s financial information:

  • Historical financial results.
  • The 2025 accounts.
  • The 2026 budget and forecast.

He also detailed the financial control mechanisms: monthly monitoring, quarterly review by the Board and annual approval by the Assembly.

Amendments to the Statutes

Eduardo Castaño, from Altalex, guided the Assembly through the formal proceedings and the amendments to the Statutes. All were approved by the required two-thirds majority.

Continuity of the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors elected in 2024 will continue its term until 2028. The Assembly approved filling the vacancy left by Jaume Ferrer as Technical Secretary with Jorge Caña (AFP Courts), who was already serving as Vice-President, and the vacancy left by Albert Escofet, who resigned from his position as Board Member, with the appointment of Ignacio Mercado (Mondo Ibérica).

The Cluster thanks all its members for their participation and trust, and reaffirms its commitment to continuing to work together for the development and internationalisation of the padel industry.
