The new Mas Sedó recreational sports complex, located on the Reus to Riudoms road (Tarragona, Spain), will definitively open its doors in September. The Aurial Padel group, headed by professional player Marta Marrero, has taken over the management of the 3.5-hectare complex that will now combine sports, events, and gastronomy.
The estate, a benchmark in events for more than two decades, had been completely transformed for the past two years with ambitious works led by its owning company, headed by the constructor Antonio Manzano. However, the opening was continuously postponed, despite the fact that the 17 padel courts (one fewer than announced) had been built from the beginning, a sports director had been appointed, and the facilities had already been renamed as Amand’s Padel (playing with the owner's initials).
Initially, the property had negotiated with Ari Sánchez, the world's number 1 player, to open her own padel school and have her team manage that part of the business, but the agreement ended up falling through. Ultimately, it will be Aurial Padel who will lead this new business model for the estate, capitalizing on the enormous potential of its space.
One of its main attractions will be its 17 state-of-the-art panoramic padel courts, among which a central court with stands stands out, where spectators can comfortably follow the finals of the tournaments held there.
Another strong point is a 1500 m2 gym, equipped with Technogym machinery and state-of-the-art technology to enhance sports performance, multipurpose rooms, and spacious locker rooms. Additionally, the complex also features a 25-meter outdoor swimming pool, sunbathing area, and chill-out zone.
Aurial Padel's announcement coincides with the return to the courts of Marta Marrero, former world number one in this sport, after her maternity leave. The 41-year-old player, based in Barcelona, announced earlier this year that she plans to return to the professional circuit soon.
With this new addition to the group, Aurial Padel will have a total of 83 courts distributed in different locations in Catalonia: Sant Cugat, Cornellà, Vic, Sabadell, Lleida, and Reus.
