Continental becomes the main sponsor of Premier Padel in Spain

Last Wednesday, June 6, Continental, an international technology company that develops safe, efficient, intelligent, and affordable solutions for vehicles, machinery, traffic, and transportation, held an event to announce that it will be the main sponsor of Premier Padel in Spain for the next three years. Thus, the German company will sponsor the Premier Padel Andalucía Sevilla P2, Premier Padel Andalucía Málaga P1, and Comunidad de Madrid Premier Padel P1 tournaments until the end of the 2026 season.

At the presentation event, which took place at the WiZink Center in Madrid, Pedro Teixeira, General Manager of Continental Tires; David Serrahima, General Manager of Octagon Spain (the company organizing the Premier Padel tournaments in Spain); Jorge Cajal, Director of Communications and Public Relations at Continental Tires Spain; Javier Caballero, Marketing Director at Continental; and Óscar Pereiro, former professional cyclist and 2006 Tour de France winner and current Continental ambassador, were present.

“Continental has always been synonymous with innovation, safety, and quality, a philosophy that we also want to bring to padel, reinforcing our tradition of commitment to sports,” said Pedro Teixeira.

For his part, David Serrahima commented: “For us, it is important that brands like Continental join the project to develop the best padel in the world in major Spanish cities such as Seville, Málaga, Madrid, and Barcelona. Alliances like this are an opportunity for growth for both brands.”

Federico Chingotto and Manu Martín, new ambassadors of Continental

The event also served to introduce the two new Continental ambassadors in the world of padel: Federico Chingotto, ranked number 6 in the world and partner of Ale Galán -with whom he has already won three tournaments in 2024- and Manu Martín, a content creator and one of the leading Spanish-speaking padel influencers through his YouTube channel “Mejora tu pádel”.

"It is an honor that a brand like Continental takes notice of and supports you, I am enjoying it a lot. I am also glad that they support padel, which is the sport I love. It is a pleasure to be part of the family, and I hope we remain united for a long time. Sponsors are key, both for the image of the players and for growing as an athlete; therefore, their support is fundamental, and I trust we will grow together," said Federico Chingotto.

Manu Martín commented, "The growth has been gradual enough not to affect me, but now you go, for example, to Chile, and people know you, even though you remain the same person. But the affection that people show you also makes you take your role as a disseminator as a commitment. In this growth, not only mine but also that of the sport, social media has been key because they allow you to reach many more people."

Continental Padel Series

Additionally, the event officially introduced the "Continental Padel Series," the first amateur tournament dedicated to the automotive aftermarket world. "The tournament is aimed at Continental's customers, will have 3 levels, with 20 participants per category, and in 2024 will feature 7 dates in Spain (Bilbao, Málaga, Madrid, A Coruña, Seville, Barcelona, and Valencia), culminating in a grand final, which will be held in December in Barcelona. The winners will have the opportunity to meet Federico Chingotto in person, while all participants in each of the editions will also receive a gift for their participation," explained Javier Caballero, Marketing Director of Continental.
