The Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour reaffirms its commitment to sustainability at two of its most iconic tournaments, thanks to AQUAME, a leading company in smart hydration solutions, which joins as an official sponsor of the Comunidad de Madrid Premier Padel P1 and the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Finals in Barcelona.
This collaboration will allow single-use plastic bottles to be replaced with reusable smart canteens for all players and tournament staff, significantly reducing single-use plastic consumption. To support this, dedicated water stations will be installed at each venue, making it easier to use these innovative bottles throughout the competition.
“This agreement reflects our commitment to making our tournaments increasingly sustainable and environmentally responsible. The partnership with AQUAME allows us to bring cutting-edge technology to a basic need like hydration, while also reducing our ecological footprint,” said Joan Cuscó, President of Octagon Spain.
Steve Aidun Xie, CEO of AQUAME, added: “We’re delighted to partner with two such iconic tournaments to promote a more sustainable and innovative competition. Our smart bottles are designed to maximize performance, care for the environment, and enhance the user experience. This project aligns perfectly with our vision.”
AQUAME’s smart bottles — equipped with intake tracking, drinking reminders, a clock function, temperature sensors, self-cleaning technology, smart connectivity, and integration with the AQUAME Hydration Performance App — will be available at both the Comunidad de Madrid Premier Padel P1, held from September 2 to 7 at the Movistar Arena, and the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Finals, from December 8 to 14 at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona.
This initiative is part of a broader sustainability strategy being implemented across Premier Padel tournaments held in Spain, aiming to turn sport into a platform for positive environmental impact.
