The International Padel Federation (FIP) and the Qatar Padel Federation have officially announced that Doha will host the 2026 and 2028 FIP World Cup, the most prestigious international team competition in world padel.
Both editions will take place at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex, home of the Qatar Major Premier Padel since 2022 and the venue of the most recent FIP World Team Championships.
The 2026 edition will be held from 2 to 7 November, as confirmed in the official FIP calendar, bringing together 16 men's national teams and 16 women's national teams competing for the world title.
Record prize money for world padel
One of the competition's major announcements is its unprecedented prize fund.
The 2026 FIP World Cup will offer a record €1.2 million in prize money, increasing to €1.35 million for the 2028 edition.
The prize money will be distributed equally between the men's and women's competitions, making it the largest prize fund ever awarded in an official padel competition.
Doha, a commitment to continuity
The decision to award both editions to Doha was based on several key factors, including the quality of its sporting infrastructure, the excellent conditions provided for athletes and national delegations, its proven experience in organising major international events, high security standards, financial guarantees and the strong sporting legacy Qatar has developed in recent years.
The country has become one of the leading venues for international padel after hosting several editions of the Qatar Major Premier Padel as well as the most recent FIP World Team Championships.
Official statements
FIP President Luigi Carraro described the decision as a strategic step for the future of the sport. "Awarding the 2026 and 2028 FIP World Cup to Doha is a decision that looks towards the future of our sport. Qatar has consistently demonstrated that it possesses all the qualities required to host world-class events, and staging two consecutive editions will provide continuity to the tournament's growth while guaranteeing an exceptional experience for players, federations and fans."
Carraro also stated that Doha has become one of the world's great homes of padel and thanked the Qatar Padel Federation for its continued commitment to the international growth of the sport.
Tareq Zainal, Secretary General of the Qatar Padel Federation, also welcomed the announcement. "Hosting two consecutive editions represents a unique opportunity to build on our experience, continue improving the event and deliver an exceptional experience for players, teams and fans from around the world."
