International Padel Federation becomes a signatory to the World Anti-Doping Code

The International Padel Federation (FIP) has officially announced that it has become a signatory to the World Anti-Doping Code of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), reinforcing its commitment to the integrity of the sport and placing padel within the same regulatory framework followed by the world's leading Olympic and international sports.

The milestone concludes a two-year process carried out in collaboration with the International Testing Agency (ITA), during which the FIP aligned its governance, regulations and anti-doping programme with the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Code.

A major step towards international recognition

By becoming a WADA Code signatory, the FIP formally commits to implementing the World Anti-Doping Code and its International Standards while working closely with WADA and the ITA across all competitions under its jurisdiction.

FIP President Luigi Carraro described the announcement as a historic milestone for the sport. "This is a historic milestone for our Federation and for the global padel community. The journey to becoming a WADA Code Signatory has required considerable commitment, discipline and perseverance. Today, we are proud to place padel alongside the world's most respected sports in the fight for clean sport, ensuring that our athletes compete in a fair, transparent and trustworthy environment."

Strengthening integrity across the sport

Becoming a signatory enhances fairness for athletes and reinforces confidence in the integrity of competitions organised under the FIP umbrella, including the FIP World Cup, the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour, the Cupra FIP Tour, and the Hexagon World Series.

The achievement also represents an important step towards greater international recognition for padel and supports the sport's long-term ambitions within the global sporting ecosystem.

What does becoming a WADA signatory mean?

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is responsible for leading the global fight for clean sport by harmonising anti-doping policies across sports and countries.

As a signatory, the FIP agrees to fully implement the World Anti-Doping Code and its International Standards, ensuring that athletes competing in international events are subject to the same anti-doping rules worldwide. This status is also a fundamental requirement for recognition within the Olympic Movement.
