The report provides updated data on players, clubs and courts, the geographical expansion of padel and the development of international competitions. World Padel Impact: a new economic perspective
The main new feature of this edition is FIP World Padel Impact, a study conducted by the FIP Research & Data Analysis Department in collaboration with OpenEconomics.
The analysis examines padel’s economic impact across five main areas:
Court rental, linked to the day-to-day activity of padel facilities.
Facility construction, including the development of new playing venues.
Technical equipment, covering the products and materials required to play the sport.
Tournaments, considering the economic activity associated with competitions.
Total expenditure by country, providing insight into padel’s economic footprint across different markets.
According to the published findings, the global padel industry generates €6.84 billion in annual expenditure, economic output of €13.07 billion, and more than 235,000 jobs. The report also puts the sport’s contribution to GDP at €8.6 billion.
The study is available to consult and download through the FIP website. It is also accompanied by an interactive microsite that allows users to explore the findings and access individual profiles for affiliated national federations, including contextual information on each market and its economic impact.

Key figures include:
More than 91,200 courts worldwide, representing year-on-year growth of 20.4%.

The Growth of Padel in the World section also provides a more detailed continental analysis, identifying regional differences and the main development trends across international markets.
These figures offer a global overview of the sport’s evolution, although participation, federation and infrastructure statistics represent different indicators and should be interpreted in their respective contexts.
Growth across international circuits
Another section examines competitions managed by the FIP and the development of its four circuits: CUPRA FIP Tour, Qatar Airways Premier Padel, FIP Promises and FIP Beyond.
It includes statistics on tournament numbers, geographical distribution, expansion into new countries and continents, and player participation and development.
According to the report, 290 FIP tournaments were held across 50 countries in 2025, while 434 tournaments across 62 countries had already been confirmed for 2026 at the time the report was prepared.
The document also includes a dedicated section on the FIP Ranking, covering the men’s and women’s rankings, players’ nationalities and specific analyses of the Top 100 and Top 300. The indicators examined include average player age, years of birth and other characteristics of the players featured in the rankings.
Padel’s development, from grassroots participation to professional competition
In his introduction to the report, FIP President Luigi Carraro highlights the simultaneous growth of amateur participation and professional padel, as well as the importance of connecting these two dimensions through the development of emerging talent.
Carraro also emphasises the value of economic analysis in understanding the sport’s current scale and the opportunities it creates in areas such as investment, employment, infrastructure, tourism, events and innovation.
With this new edition, the FIP World Padel Report 2026 broadens its scope beyond sporting indicators to provide an overview of the industry from both economic and geographical perspectives. The data offers a resource for understanding the evolution of the international market and the challenges associated with its continued development.
