Swire Properties has announced that Taikoo Place Padel Club, a new sports facility in Hong Kong, will open in mid-November 2026. Located on Shipyard Lane and King's Road, within walking distance of Taikoo MTR station, the project is set to become the city's largest urban padel club.
The venue will feature six international competition-standard courts, including three covered and three open-air courts. The sporting facilities will be complemented by event spaces, food and beverage outlets, retail offerings and wellness amenities, including cold plunge pools and sauna facilities.
Bringing padel into the business environment
The opening marks another step in Swire Properties' strategy to integrate padel into Taikoo Place, a business and commercial district seeking to expand its range of sports, leisure and wellness activities.
The company was the first property developer in Hong Kong to introduce padel into a commercial district. Since the initiative began in 2024, it has recorded more than 4,100 hours of play, over 18,900 participant visits and more than 270 hours of corporate events.
The initiative has also supported activities for different audiences, including corporate tournaments, school coaching programmes, youth training camps and social playing sessions. Highlights include the Taikoo Place Inter-Corporate Tournament, which brought together 72 corporate teams, as well as community programmes delivered in partnership with Laureus Sport for Good Hong Kong and Taikoo Primary School.
PADEL+ appointed to operate the club
Swire Properties will continue its collaboration with PADEL+, which will operate the new facility and contribute its expertise in coaching, sports programming and club management.
According to Don Taylor, Director of Office at Swire Properties, the aim is to bring together sport, wellness and lifestyle, enhancing Taikoo Place as a destination for people throughout the week while contributing to the development of Hong Kong's sporting community.
With six courts and an offering that extends beyond the sport itself, Taikoo Place Padel Club provides an example of how padel can be integrated into urban spaces and business districts, expanding its presence beyond traditional sports clubs.
